We value every child as an individual and cater for personal learning styles in our teaching methods. Our curriculum is dyslexia friendly, creative and varied. Our cross curricular programme includes teaching social, communication and language needs including English as an Additional Language (EAL), emotional intelligence, motor skills and citizenship skills as well as delivering every area of the National Curriculum including swimming and sport.
Birtley House School follows a broadly Christian ethos and welcomes pupils of all faiths.
We have four classes (Infants – Hedgehog Class, Lower Juniors – Squirrels Class & Otters Class, Upper Junior – Moles Class). Classes are small (between 6 & 12 pupils) and many lessons make use of our beautiful grounds. We work closely with parents to encourage pupils to develop their strengths whilst working towards challenging but achievable targets in their areas of need. See ‘Fees’ page for details on the included additional support. See ‘About Us’ page for more details on teaching methods and what we offer.
